Lexus NX - Luxury or only a glorified Toyota RAV4?

Welcome back for another quick "carticle" , this time about the 2017 Lexus NX 200t SUV.

Mainly we were trying to decide whether it is a real luxury SUV or just a nicely packaged Toyota RAV4.

This small crossover is following the Lexus new aggressive exterior design, seen on it's bigger brother, namely the Lexus RX.

The model I had the chance to drive it was the F sport one, with 18-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, special interior trim , sporty gauges and a handsome steering wheel.

One of the biggest surprise to me were the seats, they are more aggressively bolstered than in the basic car, and boy, aren't they comfortable! I liked them the most this side of the Volvo's, which are famous for their super accommodating seats.

Material quality is on pair from everything from Europe, and above the American's, no discussion.

The build is strong, no squeaky pieces, versus the one found in the newest Lincolns or even Cadillacs.

The contrast colors, presented in the pics above, pushing the bar even higher, appealing to your eyes.

Another welcoming surprise was the performance. When I first got in the car, with a 4 cylinder in my mind, I had much lower expectations, but this car pulls like a V6, no doubt.

It is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo with 235 horsepower and 258 of torque.

I never had the feeling that I would need more power, on the ramp, merging the freeway or on a twisty mountain road going into Yosemite Valley.

One more interesting feature was the Remote Touch, a console-mounted touchpad like the one found in laptops. Using this Remote Touch can avert your attention from the road, which is not good thing though.

All in all my opinion about this small crossover is that it worth the price difference compared to it's cousin the Toyota RAV4. Of course it has a couple of negative feature versus the Toyota, like the much smaller cargo capacity or the higher price.
