The new A5 has been 100% redesigned and it shares not a single piece of sheetmetal with its predecessor, however there is a thing: nine years ago, former Audi chief designer Walter de Silva called the Audi A5 “the most beautiful car I’ve ever designed” , so Ingolstadt decided to stick with the design language as much as possible.

The A5 new features are the wide, flat Singleframe, the Matrix LED headlights, the wavelike side lines and the flared wheel arches. Evoking its racing heritage, the exterior mirrors are placed on the door top shoulders.
The US is getting the 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injected four-cylinder, rated at 252 hp and paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Audi will also offer the 354-hp S5 powered by a 3.0-liter V-6 with a twin-scroll turbo and mated to an eight-speed torque-converter automatic. Both models should come with Quattro all-wheel drive standard.

On the sportier variant there is an S5 logo with a red rhombus on the flanks, grille and tailgate. The same logo is also found inside: on the welcome screen on the MMI display, the chrome trim and door sills.
The highlights of the interior are the seats with massage function and the steering wheel heating, the three-zone climate control, the electrically extending and retracting seat belt feeders, 3D sound system and a panoramic glass roof.
